About Unmarker
Who builds Unmarker, why we started after Anthropic's August 2026 announcement, how we work (measured, not promised), what the product is not, and how to reach us.
Who makes Unmarker
Unmarker is built by STRATINET, a French limited liability company (SARL, RCS Cannes 944 837 871) based in Mouans-Sartoux, near Cannes, and run by its founder and managing director, Alexandre Fuchs. STRATINET builds and operates web products and content sites; Unmarker is its first product about AI text provenance. There is no outside investor and no partnership with any AI vendor. Unmarker is an independent product, not affiliated with or endorsed by Anthropic.
Why we started it in August 2026
On August 11, 2026 Anthropic announced that Claude's text output carries a statistical watermark, following the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act (article 50, in force since August 2, 2026). We use Claude every day, and we noticed the same thing many writers, translators and developers noticed within a week: a text you wrote yourself, once proofread or translated by Claude, comes back marked, and a light edit does not change that. We wanted a tool that measures the mark, rewrites the wording under a meaning check, and shows the score before and after, instead of a green tick.
How we work: measured, not promised
- We publish what we measure: a watermark score before and after, a diff of every change, and a "not enough text" message when a text is too short for any detector.
- We never promise that a text will pass any detector, and we make no claim about stylometric AI detectors (GPTZero, Turnitin, Originality): they read style, we measure a watermark.
- We do not build for academic or contractual dishonesty. Where disclosure of AI use is required, the tool does not change what you must declare.
- Our guides quote and link their sources (Anthropic's help center, TechCrunch, Nature, arXiv, EUR-Lex) and give the date of every claim.
What the product is not
Unmarker is not an AI detector in the usual sense, not a plagiarism checker, not an image or audio watermark tool, and not affiliated with Anthropic, Google or OpenAI. It does not hold any vendor's key: it estimates the footprint of a keyed watermark and says so.
Status
Pre-launch.
